INTRODUCTION- 

GREAT EXPECTATION is one of the best novel of charles dickens (1812-1870). The hero of the novel is a little boy, PIP. He is low born. He want to be became a gentleman.

DISCUSSION –

1) Pip had lost both his parents. So he lived with his sister Mrs. Joe and brother in low Mr. Joe. Gargery who was blacksmith. The following day, Pip was sitting beside his parent’s tombstone and was beginning to cry. There he encountered the first convict Magwitch – a meeting which give him quanta of fear.

Magwitch, “Keep still or I’ll cut your trout”.

Pip ,”no, sir no…”

Magwitch “Tell us your name. Quick”

Pip – “Pip sir …. Pip ” 

Magwitch -” Show us where you live. Point out there.”

Pip “There sir….There”
