Write a note on Atwood and Ondaatje’s contribution to Canadian Poetry.

Margaret Atwood  – Margaret Atwood was born in Ottawa on 18 November, 1939. Atwood is one of Canada’s best known writers. She is the author of a number of novels also of which Surfacing is one of the better-known ones. Recently she won the Booker’s prize for her novel The Blind Assasin.

She studied in Victoria College, University of Toronto and had her Master’s degree from Harward. Starting with the University of British Columbia Vancouver, Canada in 1964, she has taught at many places. She later became a full-time writer.
