Functions of Communication

COMMUNICATION Functions – Communication is consubstantial to the human being, who is eminently a social being, the diverse functions that communication has are basic for the development of the person. Among these function we have:

  1. Affective- Through communication we relate emotionally with others, expressing our feelings and affections. This function of communication is of great importance for the emotional stability of people.
  2. Regulatory – Communication can be used to regulate the behavior of others and facilitate their adaptation to society.
  3. Informative – Through it we transmit the culture, history, experiences, etc. This function is essential in the educational field.
