TYPES OF DEPENDENT CLAUSES

A dependent clause is sometimes named after the ‘part of speech’ whose function it assumes in the sentence. A clause which does the work of a noun is called a noun clause. The same is true of the other two types also.

We can, therefore, classify dependent clause (s) as:

1. Noun clause
2. Adjective clauses
3. Adverb clauses
