Titania is still asleep and the actors arrive to rehearse. They enter into completely absurd and hilarious considerations regarding the details of the staging. Then they rehearse and everything is a disaster. Puck, who is watching them, decides to change the head of Lanzadera for that of a donkey. The other actors flee in terror when they see him. Titania wakes up and falls in love with Lanzadera, putting her fairies and elves at the disposition of the gañán, who cares more about the services of these beings than the beauty of Titania.

Oberon and Puck realize the mistake made with Lisandro when seeing Demetrio and Hermia arguing (Hermia accuses Demetrio of the death of Lisandro when seeing that this one is not). Oberon sends Puck to look for Elena and finally pours juice into Demetrio’s eyes. Lisandro and Elena arrive, pursued by him. Puck rejoices in the mess affirming: “There is nothing that I like as much as the absurd”.

Hermia also enters the stage, who of course does not understand anything: now both her suitor and her love woo Elena, who believes that everything is a mockery against her. Demetrio and Lisandro prepare to fight a duel for Elena. And Hermia and Elena get into a tremendous argument. Although all this is very much to Puck’s taste, Oberon orders him to fix the mess before the day comes. Both Demetrio and Lisandro fall asleep exhausted by the races that Puck makes them run. And Elena and Hermia fall asleep too.
