Daughter’s Revolt
“Don’t play that tune again

That your mother,

her mother and her mother

had played on the snake-charmer’s flute

into the ears of nitwits like me.

I’m just spreading my hood.

I’ll sink my fangs into someone and lose my venom.

Let go, make way.”

इस स्तम्भ में, बेटी को स्पष्ट रूप से उसकी मां के विरूद्ध विद्रोह करते देखा जा सकता है और उसे उसी धुन (नियम) में नहीं चलना है, जो उसकी मां और दादी युवा किशोरावस्था में उनके कानों में धुन  (नियम) गाती रही है।  बेटी अपनी मां को बताती है कि वह सिर्फ अपने बढ़ते सालों में है और स्वतंत्रता के रास्ते में आने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति को अपनी ताकत लागू करेगी।
