Herzberg’s Motivation-Hygiene Theory and Maslow’s Need Priority Theory
Maslow felt that the needs have a definite sequence of domination. The second need does not dominate until the first is reasonably satisfied, and the third need does not dominate until the first two needs have been reasonably satisfied and so on. The other side of the need hierarchy is that man is never satisfied. If one need is satisfied another need arises. According to Maslow’s Need Priority if one’s lower order needs (physiological and security needs) are not satisfied, he can be motivated only by satisfying these needs first and not by satisfying the higher order needs. Further, once a need or a certain order of is satisfied, it ceases to be a motivating factor.
मास्लो ने महसूस किया कि जरूरतों के लिए वर्चस्व का एक निश्चित क्रम है। दूसरी ज़रूरत तब तक नहीं बनी जब तक कि पहले उचित रूप से संतुष्ट न हो, और तीसरी जरूरत पर हावी नहीं पड़ती जब तक कि पहले दो जरूरतों को पर्याप्त रूप से संतुष्ट नहीं किया जाता था और इसी तरह। जरूरत पदानुक्रम के दूसरी तरफ यह है कि आदमी कभी भी संतुष्ट नहीं होता है। अगर किसी की जरूरत पड़ने पर संतुष्ट हो जाता है मास्लो के Need Priority मुताबिक अगर किसी की निचली ऑर्डर की ज़रूरत होती है (शारीरिक और सुरक्षा की जरूरत है) संतुष्ट नहीं होती है, तो वह केवल इन जरूरतों को पूरा करके ही उच्चतर जरूरतों को पूरा करके ही प्रेरित हो सकता है इसके अलावा, एक बार ज़रूरत या एक निश्चित क्रम संतुष्ट हो जाता है, यह एक प्रेरक कारक नहीं रह जाता है।
The physiological and security needs are finite, but the needs of higher order are sufficiently infinite and are likely to be dominant in persons at higher levels in the organisation. Studies have also revealed that those needs which are thought to be most important like social needs, ego needs and self-realisation needs are also the best satisfiers.
शारीरिक और सुरक्षा की जरूरतें सीमित हैं, लेकिन उच्चतर ऑर्डर की आवश्यकताएं पर्याप्त रूप से अनंत हैं और संगठन में उच्च स्तर पर व्यक्तियों में प्रभावशाली होने की संभावना है। अध्ययनों से यह भी पता चला है कि उन जरूरतों को जो सामाजिक जरूरतों, अहंकार की जरूरतों और आत्म-प्राप्ति की जरूरतों की तरह सबसे महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है, यह भी सबसे अच्छा संतुष्ट हैं।
