Scoring procedure for an oral test
(ii) Scoring procedure for an oral test
Ans. Scoring Procedure : As the testing of oral skills is a challenging task for the teachers in the same manner the scoring of the oral test is challenging one. Depending upon the level and the purpose of testing teachers may use a holistic or an analytical scoring scheme.
Holistic assessment is a system which is used by the teacher They he/she focuses on all the aspects of communication, i.e. pronunciation, grammar, thought process, vocabulary, fluency, etc. Such a scoring is based on more of a subjective assessment. On the other hand analytical scoring is more about evaluating one aspect of communication at one point of time, which makes it more objective and detailed evaluation.
