Write a note on the Urban-Social Realism that forms the technique in The Tin Flute.

Hers is a down-to-earth realism with a strong tilt towards ‘naturalism’. This ‘naturalism’ also is of a’greatly functional kind. In a sense her work is more in the line of writers like Arnold Bennett 1867-193 1). Bennett, like Roy, was greatly influenced by Zola and his books mainly concern life in the industrial towns of the northwest Midland in England. He also emphasizes the influence of environment on character and builds his artistic wholes by means of a patterns of mundane details.
