2. Bairam Khan’s Regency: Bairam Khan was a prominent noble and military commander during the early years of the Mughal Empire under Emperor Akbar’s reign. After Akbar’s accession to the throne at a young age, Bairam Khan acted as regent and effectively ruled on his behalf. Bairam Khan’s regency aimed to provide stability and effective governance during Akbar’s formative years.

He continued Akbar’s grandfather Humayun’s policy of reconciliation with Afghan chiefs, which helped consolidate Mughal rule. However, Bairam Khan’s regency was not without challenges. He faced opposition from within the court, and his high-handed approach led to discontent among some nobles. Ultimately, Bairam Khan was removed from power due to internal conflicts, and Akbar began to assert his independence as a ruler. Despite the challenges, Bairam Khan’s regency played a role in maintaining continuity during a crucial period of the Mughal Empire’s history.
