ii) Enlightenment:

The Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason, was an intellectual and philosophical movement that emerged in Europe during the 17th and 18th centuries. It emphasized reason, logic, and the scientific method as the primary sources of knowledge and progress. Enlightenment thinkers sought to challenge traditional authority, superstition, and religious dogma, advocating for individual rights, freedom of thought, and the separation of church and state.

Prominent Enlightenment figures like John Locke, Voltaire, Montesquieu, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau championed ideas of human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. Their writings contributed to the spread of rationalism, secularism, and the concept of progress, which in turn influenced political revolutions and the development of modern societies.
